 Lettuce should be consumed before flowering. When picking lettuce leaves mature, care should be taken that no kind of white liquid comes out of the place of cutting. If so - it may be that the lettuce has reached full maturity and may be bitter.
 You can immediately pick leaves from the plant. It is recommended to prune as close as possible to the stem, starting from the lower leaves and it is advisable to leave several leaves to allow regeneration.
 Preserve the lettuce for a long time - it should be washed and dried well, wrapped loosely with absorbent paper and stored in an airtight box / bag.
